RUTH LANGWIESER


Ruth Langwieser is a Swiss-Canadian artist based in Estevan on Treaty 4 territory in Saskatchewan. She studied ceramics in Geneva, Switzerland, and mainly works with stoneware and porcelain clay to which she integrates natural and artificial light sources. 

Since her move to Canada, she started to introduce recycled plastic materials into her installations and focusses on interactions between human-made elements and natural forces. 

Langwieser exhibited new work at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum and has created two outdoor public installations for the Estevan Festival of Lights. 

She has taught private and community-based workshops in Switzerland and Canada, and has participated in the CARFAC Saskatchewan 2022-2023 Foundational Mentorship Program.
